I promised myself to have the cadence sensor set-up by Monday - check.
I am adapting to a new set-up on the bike: 175mm cranks instead of 172.5 and a zero offset seat post to get my knees in a more neutral position. Spent some time getting the proper fit on my bike. I do feel like I am engaging more of the large muscle groups over a greater range of motion and my knees actually feel more comfortable. I was afraid to make these changes before Sequim.
I know, there are less than three weeks until Walla Walla. I have not even spent any time in the TT position. I think that I am going to bag that all together and focus on getting comfortable in this new road position. This bike will be a good all around set-up for the TT, RR and Crit.
I also need to adapt to the SRAM shifting. I played around with it bit today on the trainer, it makes a lot of sense and is hard to screw up. I did keep one Campy item though - my crankset is Fulcrum
Goal: Easy recovery HR 120-130, get used to new set-up practice shifting and split time between the drops and the hoods.
My cadence is lower than I expected. I will evaluate the cadence again after an interval workout on Thursday.
